Turned my city boy into a real COWBOY!

Thanks to a really good friend of mine, I got Jason on a horse for the 2nd time in his life! We had so much fun!!! This is the beginning of a new hobby. Maybe there will be some horses in our future ;) Jason rode Elle, who used to be a race horse. I rode Della, who is my friend's horse she uses to ride in the H.O.T sweethearts. She just came from a rodeo, so she was a bit tired.

Brooks went to Mutton Bustin' practice today and did Awesome. Here's a few pics, maybe a video will be posted next week. He's in a tournament May 22nd. So we have some practicing to do!!! He did so great today and the people that were helping REALLY made him feel comfortable. Which was totally what we were looking for.

Mutton Bustin' Take TWO

We are taking him to a mutton bustin' practice tonight. He can ride as many sheep as he wants from 6:30 to 8:oo. Have to drive a little bit but it will be worth it. Stay tuned to see how it goes

Fun Fun Fun in the SUN!!

It's getting hot here already. Time for the pool to open!! We've been preping Brooks with swim lessons and he's doing REALLY good with them. We just started another month and he's with a new teacher. I think it's going to be really good.
Abby has yet to make it into the big pool (indoor) yet. Every time we try and go there's a birthday party and it's closed :( She'll have her day soon. So for now she's in the little whale pool in the yard. Here's a few pics so you can see how much fun we are having!!

Brooks just got some goggles today so he wanted to see how he looked. He wore them at swim practice but Sara spent 10 minutes trying to tell him he didn't need to close his eyes in the water anymore . Stubborn!!!

Oh yeah, and he got a slip n slide because he saw it on a TV show. He's not real sure on how to go down head first. He had a blast though. He kept saying "This is so much Fun!"

I'm super pumpmed about this and wanted to share. I registered today for the Danskin Triathlon!!! So in a month I will be swimming, biking and running around Austin, TX! I'm so EXCITED!!!!

Western Festival 2010

The family and I went to the Western Festival yesterday. Brooks was signed up to Mutton Bust but at the last minute decided he was not ready for it yet. I told him next time he will do awesome!!!! It was really cool though. We watched the PBR. A lot of the people we watch on TV were there including Cord McCoy (Amazing Race), Zach Brown, and Jered Farley. It was great! Maybe in September at West Fest we will try again. Until then we are going to find someone that has sheep so Brooks can practice.

Abby = Diva!

Brooks has been taking the spotlight lately with all he has going on. So I wanted to give Abby a little light! She's walking now. Jas said she's been taking steps for some time now, but I didn't get to see it until the day before Easter. A week later and she was walking everywhere. Last weekend she started saying "mama", to join her other favorites "dada", "bubba", "tub tub", and "day day". "Tub tub" is Tubby our dog. "Day day" is Daisy, my mom's dog. She just LOVES dogs. Also, another BIG thing for me anyway is WE KISSED the BOTTLE GOODBYE!!! Abby is very particular about things, so I was not sure how we were going to get rid of the bottle. The girl didn't even drink from a cup until she was 1 yr. We finally figured out which ones she wanted... Brooks'! So we bought some pink cups that were like Brooks' and she's a cup drinker now. Again... SUPER particular about things. Gotta LOVE her though. :)

Abby's been a little diva lately. She thinks she is the boss of the house.

She likes to spend her time in Brooks room, pulling out all his toys. She climbs up in his chair and then plays with his work bench and all the tools. For a petite little girl she sure does like boy toys. She'll take a monster truck or a race car any day.

Doesn't she look sweet? This was yesterday. Her little headband was too funny. The girls at the YMCA and I were laughing, saying all she needed were some long socks and wrist bands... she looked like an 80's workout star. It was like a Hippie/80's workout cross. She was the cutest little hippie I've ever seen :)
