Brooks.... the FISHERMAN!

Brooks has so much going on right now.

SWIMMING............... He is in his 2nd month of swim class. His teacher actually moved him up to the next level! When we 1st started it was amazing that he put his face in the water... now he jumps off the side, can hold his head under for about 3 sec, and can swim a short distance by himself. He still doesn't have the confidence in himself to swim from point A to B without assistance... but we are getting there.

FISHING.......... This past weekend Jason took Brooks fishing for the 1st time. Mr. Roy and Mrs. Darleene invited the boys out to fish at their creek. Jason casted out the line out for him. After that, Brooks held the pole, waited for the bobber to go under, and he reeled in 5 catfish. Jason said after he caught the 1st one, he dropped the pole, ran about 10 ft, jumped in the air, and said "Yes, I got one!" He was SOOO proud of himself!! It was a big day for him.

T-BALL............ It started out rocky. Yesterday he had a game and he was a ROCKSTAR!!! The 1st 2 games he hit the ball and ran to 2nd base... skipped 1st.... went straight to 2nd!!! We are past that now. Yesterday he hit the ball hard, ran ALL the bases, and played really good in the field. Such a little baseball player!

Mutton Bustin'...... May 3rd Brooks is going to Mutton Bust at the HOT Western Festival. We were nervous that he was going to chicken out but he's sounding REALLY excited about it. I'll update after Sunday.

A visit to the Tate's

This week my mom and I also took the kids over to one of her good friend's house. They have the most beautiful landscaping I've ever seen. They have a creek that runs across the back of his property and Brooks can NOT wait to go fishing there. Here are a few pictures from our visit.

They even have an outhouse!

Brooks' 1st Tball game

Yesterday was Brooks' 1st Tball game. He's #1, and his team is called the Red Sox... even though they are not red :) It was so cute to watch, typical 1st tball game. Brooks hit the ball and ran straight to 2nd base. It was too funny!!! Tomorrow we have pictures and another game. He's super excited. His best friend, Knox came to watch the game last night. They ran the bases after the game and had a blast!!! Game 2 tomorrow... wish us luck!

Bluebonnets

My mom and I took the kids to the park today where we found BLUEBONNETS and Paintbrushes! I love this time of year, Texas looks so beautiful with all the wildflowers everywhere. My favorite though is when the bluebonnets come out. They are only here for a short time but GOSH are they beautiful.

Brooks picked a whole bunch of flowers while we were there. He said they were for him and his daddy. I guess no one ever gets them flowers so he's getting some for them? :)
Man is it hard to get two small kids to look AND smile at the camera at the same time.

Brooks' Monster Jam Birthday Party!!!!

Today we had Brooks' 4th Birthday party! We had so much fun at Chuck E Cheese's. With the help of a few people (Nick, Tyler, Jason, Hope, Blaire, and me) Brooks cashed out and ended up with 4000 tickets. In addition to all the awesome gifts he got he added a huge bouncy ball, a chuck e cheese's monster truck, some bugs and straws!!!! Gotta love those things you can get with your tickets. It turned out really great! Brooks finally got over his fear of Chuck E Cheese, he gave him a big 'ol hug. Brooks had a GREAT time. He usually has some complaint about something... I had fun BUT I wanted to play that one thing... NOT this time. He said it was the best birthday in the whole wide world!!!! That makes it all worth it ;) Enjoy the pics!!!

Brooks at the party, finishing up some pizza and about to dig into some cake!

While I was waking up this morning I realized that when Brooks goes to blow out the candles... he's probably going to blow all the dirt off. So I raised up the candles with a stack of "tires" (chocolate covered donuts)

The Baker.... me :) I thought the cake was a big hit. The whole way to Chuck E Cheese's Brooks was like "Momma, make sure you hold on to that cake REAL TIGHT!!!"

Brooks decided that El Torro Loco needed to be crashed, so he is :) We are having a small little party for him tomorrow at Chuck E Cheese's. (another thing he decided on) He even picked out what friends he wanted there... so cute!!! Party pics to come...... to be continued....
